Content Hosted Pages Work in Your Favor

No one will argue with how valuable incoming links are to a web site. But remember: not all links carry the same value.

If the link to your site is coming from a links page containing hundreds of other, non-related sites it will not carry the same weight as link from a related-content site. By far, the links carrying the most value are those from content hosted pages.

One of these pages, known variously as hosted marketing pages, advertorials or pre-sell pages, are nothing more than a well-written article promoting a product or service with links embedded in the content pointing back to the client's site. In a situation such as this everyone comes out a winner. The client gets good, quality links back to his site and the host gets fresh, new content and a payment.

An additional bonus of a hosted page is that the only links on the page are those going back to the client's site. Other advantages include control over the content, headers and subheads, the anchor text of the links and the keyword density. How can anyone go wrong?

Yet another plus is that links from the hosted page are considered editorial links, thus seen as more natural by the search engines, thereby carrying more value. A good quality page containing information others value may also develop its own back links which will increase the value of the page. That value may also be passed on the client's web site.

Any web master wanting a source of income should consider offering to host content pages. Any page on a site that carries a nice ranking, but little traffic, should be considered ripe for a hosted page.

By offering the page to a similarly themed web site, a web master can earn a nice return to go along with the fresh content. Everyone comes out a winner.
