New Releases Can Provide Valuable Free Links

Often overlooked as a source for valuable free links is the news release, which is one of the easiest, most cost-effective method to promote your web site or product.

Don't know how to write a news release? Fortunately, Aditya Mahesh of Do It Right Public Relations http://www.doitrightpr.com/ offers the following template that anyone can follow to write the perfect news release.

Template

Title [Something Short and Sweet That Gets The Point Across]

Description [A short summary of 2-3 sentences]

City, State, Date -- The first paragraph should answer as many of the 5 W's and H as possible: who, what, where, when, why and how. Who is the press release about, what is it about, where and when did the event take place, why is it significant and how will it help.

The second paragraph of the press release should expand on the topic of the press release. If you launch a product, give a description of the product and why it is the best. If you launched a new section of a website, tell why people should read it and what they can find there.

Next, include a quote from a company official or site founder. Be sure to include the person's title and/or area of expertise.

The next paragraph should include information on pricing [if applicable] and expand on any information from the quote or in the second paragraph of the release. Product availability should also be here if it has not already been mentioned. [again, only if you are selling a product].

Here you can add a quote from an industry expert or a satisfied customer.

Finally, end the news release with a few sentences pointing to a website offering more information.

### [Ends the Press Release]
